Abstract

The rise of telemedicine signifies the dawn of a transformative era in healthcare delivery, offering innovative solutions to surmount geographical barriers, enhance patient care, and optimize resource allocation. In this context, the present study endeavors to introduce and validate a telemedicine deployment model within selected hospitals in Zahedan. This research employs an applied mixed-methods approach, involving the analysis of 47 telemedicine papers through a Meta-analysis synthesis study model, followed by the extraction of related dimensions and codes through content analysis. The subsequent prioritization of these dimensions is carried out using the Shannon entropy analysis method. The research encompasses all employees of the chosen Zahedan hospitals, selected using the Cochran formula, resulting in a sample of 321 individuals who completed the research questionnaire. Confirmatory factor analysis, executed through SMART PLS version 3, is utilized for research data analysis. The findings indicate that the extracted indexes from the papers are categorized into five main classes: cultural, human, institutional empowerment, strategy, and infrastructure and knowledge management. Notably, infrastructure is further subdivided into technical, security, software and hardware, legal, network, and organizational aspects. Among these dimensions, infrastructure, strategy, knowledge management, empowerment, and culture are shown to explain 93%, 84%, 83%, 70%, and 54% of the variance in telemedicine, respectively. Furthermore, the results of the confirmatory factor analysis reinforce the validity of all components within the research model, achieving a high level of confidence at 99%. In essence, this study lays the foundation for a comprehensive telemedicine implementation framework, offering invaluable insights for healthcare organizations striving to seamlessly integrate telemedicine into their daily operations.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to design and validate the reading literacy curriculum model based on the criteria of progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS) in the elementary course of the Iranian educational system. To this end, PIRLS test criteria have been used to explain and design the dimensions of the curriculum according to the elements of the Akker curriculum. The present research is qualitative in which an attempt has been made to develop a desirable model by adopting a systematic approach in the field of curriculum design and using valid national and international resources and documents. Some features of this model include indigenousness, attention to audience characteristics, scientificity, simplicity, novelty, and active approach to teaching and learning. The opinions of 31 experts in the field of curriculum planning and Persian language teaching were used to validate the proposed model, and these people highly approved the desired model. However, the application of this model requires attention to issues such as having a systemic approach to reading education, bilingualism, professional training of teachers, and attention to content and resources and facilities.

Abstract

This quantitative study was an endeavor to generalize the findings of a qualitatively-oriented inquiry of code switching (CS). Therefore, in accordance with the themes and categories of the previous model, that is, 8 themes and 26 categories, a code switching survey consisting of 8 hypothetical factors and 43items was designed. Piloting the survey among 215 EFL learners, it gained acceptable requirements for reliability and validity indices, except for the loading of 4 items that were discarded in the final version of the survey. Subsequently, the 39 item Likert-scale survey was distributed among 418 ELT students. To verify the factor structure of the instrument, structural equation modeling (SEM) was used which verified good fit indices. In addition, the findings showed that a tool for augmenting understanding was the most and teacher code switching as a barrier to learning and communication was the least influential factor of CS. Besides, the results indicated that the following demographic variables (gender, language proficiency, and educational level) but age had significant roles in the overall selection of code switching factors. Also, findings of this study could make it easier for the specialists in the field of educational psychology to fill the gaps of educational problems such as anxiety. So, the results of this study could help the ELT classroom to be a non-threatening place. Finally, it can be implicated that the model can be used in educational settings because it can help both students and teachers to achieve their pedagogic goals.

Abstract

Wisdom is a multi-dimensional construct that is rooted in cultural values. The present study aimed to explore the concept of wisdom in Iranian culture and develop a valid and reliable tool to measure it. The study conducted in a mixed method style includes both qualitative and quantitative methods. The sample in the qualitative study was 233 people (131 female and 102 male). The sample of the quantitative study included 1201 people living in Tehran. Semi-structured interviews were used to collect data in the qualitative study and for collecting data in quantitative section, the web-based questionnaire was distributed and people voluntarily answered the questions. Colaizzi's phenomenological methodology was applied in the qualitative section.  In the qualitative study, the findings revealed that Iranian people defined wisdom in six components include: Strategic Thinking, Self-awareness, Spirituality, Adaptation, Pro-social Behaviors and Social Consulting. In the quantitative section, content validity was confirmed using CVR index. Structural validity was confirmed using confirmatory factor analysis. Iranian-Islamic Wisdom Scale showed positive relationships with Ardelt’s three-dimensional wisdom scale and Levenson’s Adult Self-Transcendence Inventory. The reliability of new scale was examined by internal contingency and reliability was satisfactory (Cronbach's α = 0.89). In general, the result showed that the wisdom is multi-dimensional and new IIWS scale appears to be a reliable and valid instrument for measuring wisdom in the Iranian’s culture.

Abstract

Considering the current changes and conditions, greater attention should be given to promoting the spirit of cooperation among human resources working in schools in order to achieve organizational goals. With this in mind, the present study aimed to validate a model for improving group cooperation among school teachers. The research employed a descriptive-correlational design. The statistical population consisted of managers and teachers in the field of educational sciences in Qom City in 2021. A sample of 129 participants was selected through accessible sampling method and Cochran's formula. Data was collected using a researcher-made questionnaire consisting of 39 statements. To validate the proposed model, structural equation modeling was performed using PLS software. The findings indicated that the tool designed to test the proposed model had adequate validity and reliability. Additionally, the overall fit of the research model was appropriate and approved. The validation of the identified components showed that all paths had a critical value higher than the critical value (1.96) at the 95% confidence level, indicating the significance of the paths, the appropriateness of the structural model, and the confirmation of all the identified components. In conclusion, the proposed model was approved, and the designed questionnaire can be used to measure the spirit of group cooperation among school teachers.

Abstract

The aim of the present study was to validate the model of connecting schools and society in Iran. The research method used was a quantitative survey. The statistical population consisted of professors and experts in the fields of sociology of education, educational managers, and school principals with a minimum of 12 years of experience in Tehran in 2022. Among them, 40 professors and experts were selected using a purposive sampling method. The data collection tools included two researcher-made questionnaires, which were assessed for reliability and validity in the present study. To analyze the data, a t-test was used in the SPSS-22 software. The results indicated that the mentioned model has desirable credibility from the perspective of professors and experts in the fields of 1) conformity with global design principles, 2) acceptability, 3) credibility and compliance with documents, 4) usability, 5) comprehensiveness, 6) credibility, 7) attention to the pragmatism approach, and 8) attention to one of the challenges of education. Additionally, the results revealed that the mentioned model provides an accurate description and explanation of the status of the relationship between schools and society, and provides appropriate strategies for connecting schools and society. Therefore, given the deficiency of models in this area, it is suggested that educational planners pay attention to this model for connecting schools with society and designing goals and content in this regard. This model can be useful as a guide for designing educational goals, content, teaching and presentation methods, and ultimately evaluating program and learners' status.

Abstract

The present study aimed to develop and validate an educational program designed to reduce self-injurious behavior (SIB) among adolescents. This program was developed based on the real-life experiences of adolescents who engage in self-harming behaviors. Employing a qualitative research approach, specifically the phenomenological method, the study encompassed all adolescents displaying self-harming behaviors in Shiraz city. The sampling process was deliberate, with the sample size determined by reaching a point of theoretical saturation. Ultimately, the perspectives of 15 adolescents (comprising 8 girls and 7 boys) were actively incorporated into the development of this educational and therapeutic package. This process involved the formulation of a model based on their lived experiences, which consisted of three core themes and 13 sub-themes. The end result was an educational-therapeutic package specifically designed to mitigate self-harming behaviors. The content validity of this educational-therapeutic package was assessed and confirmed using the content validity (Lawshe method). Importantly, this package holds significant potential for use in implementing educational and therapeutic interventions aimed at addressing self-harming behaviors among adolescents. These interventions can be effectively delivered within the context of schools, counseling centers, and educational institutions.
