Abstract

Internet infidelity, as one of the psychological damages and relationship disorders, can lead to numerous conflicts, family breakdown, and even divorce. The aim of this research was to explore inhibitory factors of internet infidelity in married couples through a qualitative study based on the grouneded theory approach. After reviewing the theoretical literature, life experiences of married individuals, and clinical observations, two groups were selected, including "individuals involved in internet infidelity" and "committed users regarding internet infidelity." These participants were sampled purposefully and theoretically, and data were collected through semi-structured interviews. The obtained data were analyzed using the Strauss and Corbin's (2008) method, resulting in the development of a grounded theory that revolves around the central phenomenon of inhibitory factors of internet infidelity. In this model, the causal conditions consist of eliminating instigating factors, filling the internal source of love, living with common manner, fear of infidelity exposure, and love for children. The contextual conditions involve controlling environmental instigating factors, awareness of the harms of infidelity, belief in commitment, corrective behaviors, and successful couples' therapy. Intervention conditions encompass a healthy social culture, proper use of the law, online detoxification, reliable information, avoidance of self-centeredness, attention to concerns, and high-profile friends. The strategies consist of prevention and treatment strategies toward virtual infidelity, individual and family counseling, shelter management, spending time with the spouse in the virtual space, and joint control. The outcomes include preserving the family system, increasing security and trust, fostering youth's desire for marriage, and providing a platform for enhancing couples' communication and skills. Identifying inhibitory factors and maintaining commitment can serve as a recommendation for pre-marriage counseling, couples' therapy skills training, and family counseling policy-making.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to develop a model for the professional development of pre-school principals in the education. The study used a qualitative approach with a grounded theory approach. A group of experts, including senior education managers, university professors in the field of educational management, and prominent human resources consultants, were selected using the snowball sampling method. The selection of experts and interviews with them continued until theoretical saturation was reached, which occurred after the eleventh interview. The method of data collection was semi-structured interviews. Based on open, axial, and selective coding of the data, the research model was developed. In the developed model, the professional development of pre-school principals was identified as the core central concept. Causal conditions included the internal motivation of pre-school principals for professional development, their job commitment, ethical behavior, and their level of education and qualifications. The research results also showed that psychological and technical empowerment of education principals, satisfaction of pre-school education staff, parents, and students were identified as strategies and outcomes, respectively. In the developed model, parental concerns about the quality of pre-school educational management and competition between pre-school centers were identified as contextual variables, while standardization and updating of the conditions for the appointment of pre-school principals and the requirements of higher-level organizations for the professional development of pre-school principals were identified as intervention factors. The findings provide practical implications for the designing the professional development programs for pre-school principals.

Abstract

Despite the paramount importance of fostering a spirit of cooperation within educational systems and recognizing the pivotal role of teachers in enhancing the quality of the teaching and learning process, there remain notable deficiencies and limitations in achieving this objective. Identifying these shortcomings and devising strategies for improvement and assurance has become an imperative necessity. In light of this, the present study was undertaken with the primary goal of conducting a qualitative exploration of a model aimed at enhancing the collaborative spirit among teachers. The research methodology employed in this study was qualitative, utilizing a grounded theory approach. The research sample comprised 19 individuals who were closely connected to the research subject, selected through purposeful sampling. Data collection was facilitated through semi-structured interviews. In the initial open coding phase, a total of over 195 preliminary codes were identified. After further refinement and consolidation of similar codes during the axial coding stage, 77 distinct codes were delineated. Subsequently, during the selective coding stage, these concepts were organized into a model designed to enhance group cooperation among school teachers, consisting of 12 components, 21 indicators, and 77 codes following further refinement. In summary, the resulting model highlights the central phenomenon of elevating the spirit of cooperation among teachers. Within this model, strategic factors encompass managerial and behavioral components, while causal conditions encompass social, personal, and educational components. Intervening conditions involve entrepreneurial and legal components, and the outcomes comprise components related to teachers' voice and communication. Contextual conditions encompass economic, environmental, and cultural components. These findings offer valuable insights for planning and designing interventions aimed at fostering a cooperative spirit among teachers.

Abstract

Objective: The current investigation was carried out to explore the underlying reasons behind compromise and withdrawal of divorce among couples seeking consensual separation.
Methods: A qualitative approach was employed in this study, utilizing the grounded theory method. The sample consisted of 9 couples who had sought services at the West Tehran Health Center, specifically those who had retracted their decision for consensual divorce in 2022, chosen through purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted through semi-structured interviews, with data analysis following the systematic framework proposed by Strauss and Corbin (1990).
Results: Through the open, axial, and selective coding processes, various concepts emerged including causal, contextual, intervening conditions, strategies, and consequences. The central category identified in the research findings was the notion of compromise with existing circumstances and the decision to sustain the cohabitation process. Causal conditions encompassed financial constraints, parental responsibilities, second chances, fear of solitude, lack of support, and indecision regarding divorce. Contextual conditions included dependent personalities, family conflicts, decision-making dilemmas, and uncertainties. Interfering conditions involved cultural and social influences, limited opportunities, and lack of individual autonomy. Upon comprehensive analysis of the paradigmatic model categories, a conclusion was drawn.
Conclusions: . The findings highlighted the efficacy of adaptive strategies such as compromise, self-regulation, counseling, and professional assistance in fostering satisfaction and continuation of cohabitation, contrasting with ineffective strategies like avoidance and destructive behaviors that led to dissatisfaction with shared lives.
