Abstract: (536 Views)
Objective: The subsequent scholarly article has been conducted with the objective of performing a sociological examination of the tendency of married men towards extramarital involvements.
Methods: The statistical cohort encompasses married men residing in the city of Zahedan. The methodological approach employed for this inquiry is quantitative in nature (survey), utilizing a questionnaire as the primary instrument for data collection. In this investigation, a multi-stage stratified sampling technique was implemented, yielding a sample size of 226 participants.
Results: The results of this study indicate that, among married men in Zahedan, the variable of religious affiliation (Shia-Sunni) does not exhibit a significant correlation with their inclination towards extramarital relationships. However, concomitant background factors, including the number of spouses, the educational attainment of the respondents and their partners, as well as the degree of religiosity, have demonstrated a correlation with their propensity to engage in extramarital relations. Furthermore, a correlation was identified between the level of religious observance, attachment to one's spouse, commitment to familial obligations, inappropriate associations, and performative behavior with the inclination towards extramarital relationships.
Conclusions: Deficiencies in religiosity, diversification of social interactions, and undesirable associations were also recognized as prevalent factors forecasting the propensity for extramarital relationships among both Sunni and Shia men in Zahedan.
